New Website Launched & New Shows

Today we launched the new website.  This new design will be easier for us to post to while out and about, and will hopefully keep you all updated a little better.  I want the site to be easy for you, the fans, to find out what is happening and I think this new design is a step in the right direction.  Plus I can never let anything sit for very long.  Still a bit of tweaking to be done but I hope you will like it!  www.StreakBand.net.  We also have new shows scheduled and each are listed in the TOUR section on the website.  The next one will be on Friday July 24th at the WWII Club in Northampton, MA.  It’s ALL AGES and tix are $8 in adv or $10 at the door.  Make sure to get your tix from us [email info@streakband.net], or tell them at the door you are there to see STREAK!

Tour Recap: Albany (Mechanicville), NY [June 13th] & Such

I believe we rolled into the Albany/Mechanicville area around 12pm on Saturday June 13th, at which time we pulled into the parking lot of Mr C’s Pub.  It was hard to tell from the outside what sort of adventures tonight’s show was going to bring us, so Jim went in to check it out.  But he was told they weren’t open yet so we hung out in the van.  Because we hadn’t spent enough time in there already…  Right around then we got a call from Mrs Streak saying that she and Paul’s Lady were about 40min out.  So in the mean time we decided to get the van washed and vacuumed out.  We were actually pretty good keeping the van clean.  Other than the usual dirt or dropped food bit or two it wasn’t really that bad.  So once the vacuuming was done I pulled up to the car wash… of which we were just a bit too tall for.  In fact we started to hit their low hanging sign.  You know, the one that says you have to fit under this sign to go through.  Yeah, oh well.  So we pulled out of there and headed across the street to another one.  This one was much taller and we had no problems.  Now the van was all nice and shiny again.  We then got a call from the girls that they had arrived in town and so we headed over to meet them.  I hadn’t seen Mrs Streak since last Saturday, so it was really, really awesome to have her there :) .  Sure, Paul and Jim are both nice and cuddly, but they just don’t quite feel the same… haha!  We then headed over to get some foodage at the local Chili’s.  It was a great last meal together before the final show of the tour.

Tour Recap: Philadephia, PA – June 12th

Thursday night/Friday morning was our second stop at a Denny’s for the tour.  It actually took us a bit to find one.  Some of the locations that came up in the GPS, well, there just was not a Denny’s there.  Who knows.  Anyway we found one around 3am, we ate our food, parked the van at a nearby lot and got ourselves a bit of rest.

Tour Recap: Raleigh NC – June 11th

We arrived at the Volume 11 Tavern in Raleigh, NC on Thursday June 11th around 11am.  (That’s three 11′s!… wait… 311? booo. Haha.)  About 1/4 mile away from the venue Paul had a “Dukes of Hazard” flash back and tried to launch the van off of the railroad track rise/bump in the road.  We didn’t get any air, but it was damn funny.  It was totally on accident, and to his credit the bump was way, way bigger than it looked on the approach.  Besides, that was just the beginning of our driving adventures in Raleigh… keep reading!

Tour Recap: Alexandria VA – June 10th

We headed out of Columbus OH on Wednesday June 10th at approximately 11am or so, although we hoped to leave at 10.  We were slow to get up.  But on the way we stopped at the local McDonald’s for some foodage, then got on our way to Alexandria, VA.  Approximately a 7hr drive.  While setting up the shows I did my best to try and keep the driving to a minimum.  Say 4 – 5 hrs at the most.  I wanted to hit as many new areas as possible to try and maximize the exposure, but at the same time keep the driving at a reasonable level.  And for the most part I was able to keep the driving distances to about those numbers.  However, Columbus to Alexandria was one of they days where the driving was a tad more.  The other was Raleigh, NC to Philadelphia, PA, which was also 7hrs.

Tour Recap: Columbus OH – June 9th

So as I mentioned in the last post, we arrived in Columbus OH around 8am.  And my Aunt and Uncle were very, very kind to let us shower and pass out at their place for the day.  AND… they even let us come back to their place after the show that night!  So Tuesday was our rest, shower, sleep, day of the tour.  While it would have been nice to be able to hang around and talk with the family more, the rest was very much needed!  We even watched “Spinal Tap” and they fed us spaghetti before sending us on our way to the show.  YUM!  During the day I received a message from My Latex Brain that unfortunately due to a family emergency they were unable to play that night.  So it was going to be just STREAK and Everlasting God Stopper.  Still made for a good show though.
